There is a small lake in my hometown, which is one of my favorite place. I always go to the lake with my friends. We swim and play a lot there. Sometimes we will go boating and enjoy the quiet moment. Now the lake is not that clean because of the pollution. I realize the importance of protecting the environment.

在家乡我的家乡有一个小湖，那是我最喜欢的地方之一。我总是和我的朋友一起去湖边，我们经常游泳、玩耍。有时我们会去划船，享受安静的时刻。现在的湖因为污染已经不那么干净了。我意识到保护环境的重要性。

Golden week means long vacation. I'm in favor of the existing of golden week. Every year, I'm looking forward to its coming. During the golden week, I can have a good rest at home or go for a travel if my parents would like to. It is very wonderful. A semester is very long, and I often feel tired after a semester. Thus, if I can have a little long vacation during the long time study would be great. After I have a good rest, I can study effectively. Having a good rest, everyone would be full of energy.

黄金周意味着长假。我赞成黄金周的存在。每年我都期待着黄金周的到来。在黄金周期间，如果我的父母愿意，我可以在家好好休息，或者去旅行。这是非常美妙的。一个学期很长，一个学期后我经常感到疲倦。因此，如果我能在长时间的学习中有一个小长假，那将是很好的。在我好好休息之后，我可以有效地学习了。好好休息，每个人都会精力充沛。

Today is Friday. It is my thirteenth birthday. I got up very early in the morning and put on my new clothes happily. My parents bought me the new clothes as my birthday presents. I went to school earlier than before. I invited many of my classmates to come to my birthday party in the evening.

今天是星期五。今天是我的十三岁生日。我早上起得很早，高兴地穿上了新衣服。我父母给我买了新衣服作为生日礼物。我比以前更早上学了。我邀请了很多同学来参加我晚上的生日聚会。

Evening came at last. Many of my classmate came to my home. They bought me lots of beautiful presents. They all said:"Happy birthday to you!" We sang birthday songs happily. Then my parents brought out a big birthday cake, saying:"We love you for ever. Happy birthday!"

At the end of the party, we ate the birthday cake and some other delicious food. How happy I was!

As the winter vacation comes, my school has activities for students, and we can choose to go to other cities to learn the historical knowledge. I want to join, but I also want to spend some time with my grandparents. At last, I make the tough choice. I decide to visit my grandparents, because I love them so much and I want to company them.

随着寒假的到来，学校组织了学生活动，我们可以选择去其他城市学习历史知识。我想加入，但我也想和我的祖父母一起度过一段时间。最后，我做出了艰难的选择。我决定去看望我的祖父母，因为我非常爱他们，我想陪伴他们。

Every person has a idol in their heart. Children chase famous singers and actors. They are attracted by their beautiful appearance and all kinds of talents, but in my heart, the person I like the most is my English teacher. She is a very nice person. I remembered the first day I saw her. I felt so nervous and didn't know how to answer her question. She smiled and helped me to solve the problem. I felt so thankful and tried to learn English well. I like her class so much, because she will introduce some western music and culture to us. I gain a lot of knowledge and broaden my vision.

In China, a lot of students are complaining about the difficulty to master English. They know how important English is, but they just feel hard to learn it. However for many foreingers, when they start to learn Chinese, some even speak it very well. To conquer Chinese has been the popular slogan for them. As Chinese economy develops so fast, the foreigners have realized the trend, so mastering Chinese is the best way to seek for cooperation. Even though it has been admitted that Chinese is the most difficulty language to learn, still a lot of foreigners make up their minds and learn it well. As the saying that there is will, there is a way. So when we are complaining about the difficulty to learn second language, just thinking about the foreigners how to learn Chinese.

在中国，很多学生抱怨掌握英语很难，他们也知道英语是多么的重要，但就是觉得很难学。然而对于很多外国人来说，他们开始学习中文，有些人却能够说得很好。征服汉语一直是流行的口号。随着中国经济的快速发展，外国人已经意识到这一趋势，所以掌握好汉语是寻求合作的最好方法。就算大家都说汉语是最难学的语言，仍然还有很多的外国人下定决心去学好它。俗话说有志者，事竟成。所以当我们抱怨学习第二语言困难的时候，想想外国人是如何学习汉语的。

I am very happy, because the Mid-autumn Festival is coming. During the days, there are many moon cakes. I love eating moon cake very much. There are various tastes, such as sweet, salt and so on. I like the sweet ones, especially the fruit-filled moon cakes. My parents always buy many for me, because they know I like moon cakes. Besides, moon cake has good moral. It symbolizes reunion. When I eat the moon cake, I often think of my big family and my relatives.

我很高兴，因为中秋节就要来了。在那几天，有很多的月饼，我很喜欢吃月饼。月饼有很多口味，比如说甜的，咸的等等。我喜欢吃甜的，特别是水果馅的。我父母总是给我买很多，因为他们知道我喜欢吃月饼。此外，月饼具有美好的象征。它象征着团圆。当我吃月饼的时候，我经常想起我的大家庭和我的亲戚。

I had a wonderful holiday at spring festival. I went to the park with my friends. We met at eight o'clock at the school gate. We went to the park by bike. It was a beautiful day. We sat under a big tree and chatted with each other. We talked about some movies and some fun things. We had lunch there. We ate hamburgers and some drinks, but I know they are not healthy and not good for us. Then we played some games.

As the winter vacation has come, my families decide to do something different. We spend the time in foreign country, which is a very warm place for me. We fly to Thailand and it is the summer weather all the time. I feel so comfortable and enjoy the sunshine there. It is the best winter holiday for me.

寒假来了，我的家人决定过一个与平时不一样的假期。我们去了国外一个非常温暖的地方。我们飞到泰国，那里一直都是夏天的气候。我觉得很舒服，享受着那里的阳光。这对我来说是最好的寒假。

I like winter holiday very much, although it's very short. The Spring Festival is interesting. I have many things to eat and I will have new clothes. Besides, I can watch TV. I like cartoons. As the winter vacation is drawing near, I have a plan about my vacation. I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm going to study harder in order to get good grades in the following term. After finishing all my homework, I'm going to enjoy myself in the sea of knowledge. Reading must be a good idea. I'm going to keep fit at the same time. I'll get up early in the morning everyday and play sports. I really love sports. Besides that, Eating a balanced diet is also good for my health. I'm going to help my mom and dad with the housework as well in the vacation. I'll learn to cook. As for travelling, I'm planning to go to Hainan. But whether going there or not will be decided on the weather. During the vacation, I'm going to learn more about history, as I'm really poor on it.

We are going to have the winter holiday. During the holiday we will have the Spring Festival. So all of the families in China are having a busy time. All of the children in China like Spring Festival very much, because they can eat many delicious food and get many money. But children in China have to do the homework for Winter Holiday. So that the could remember what they have learn the year before. Each of the children likes Winter Holiday.

我们将要放寒假。假期期间我们将过春节。所以中国所有的家庭都很忙。中国所有的孩子都非常喜欢春节，因为他们可以吃很多美味的食物，也可以得到很多压岁钱。但中国的孩子们不得不为寒假做作业。这样他们就能记住前一年学到的东西。每个孩子都喜欢寒假。

I spend a lot of time on the homework. Every day in my Winter Holiday, I always got up late. Then I listened to the tape, it is nine o'clock. Then I ate breakfast and then I did my homework during the daytime! I'm not very slow but the homework was too heavy!

我花了很多时间在家庭作业上。在我的寒假里，我每天都起得很晚。然后我听磁带，一般是九点钟。然后我吃了早餐，然后在白天做了作业！我不是很慢，但作业太重了！

New Year's Day is coming. My favorite day of a year is New Year's Day, because I can eat lots of nice food and have a holiday.

This year, I want to go to Beijing, because, there are a lot of lakes, I can fish, that is very warmth, I cannot feel cold and this are many street, I can shopping, so I think it is very comeliness, it is my wish. Now, I am really very excited.

Last year's Spring Festival is special. My uncle and my aunt came back from Shanghai. My family were very happy to keep the Spring Festival with them. And it was the most exciting festival of all the festivals.

去年的春节很特别。我的叔叔和婶婶从上海回来。我的家人很高兴能和他们一起过春节。这是所有节日中最令人兴奋的节日。

On New Year's Eve, my father and my uncle talked about their work together. My mum did some cooking with my aunt Grandparents and I watched the New Year TV programs. At about six o'clock, we had a special family dinner. We all thought the dumplings were delicious.

除夕夜，我父亲和我叔叔一起谈论了他们的工作。我妈妈和我婶婶祖父母一起做饭，我看了新年电视节目。大约六点钟，我们吃了一顿特别的家庭晚餐。我们都觉得饺子很好吃。

On the first day of the New Year, we visited our relatives. In the afternoon, we went shopping in Jiefang Road. My uncle bought some Jay's CDs. He likes Jay's music very much. There were so many people on the road. It was more alive than any other time of a year.

On the second and the third days, we spent a wonderful weekend in the country. There were much bigger trees than in the city. And the animals were more beautiful than in the city. We all enjoyed ourselves.

Things happened in Spring Festival Day, I went shopping with my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was a rare occasion because we hardly only get together few times in a year as a big family. On the way to the shopping mall, we watched the lion dance. Overall, we had an unforgettable day.

I want to be a tour guide because Beijing will host the 2008 Olympic Games. There will be many people to come to China from all over the world. Most of them don't know Chinese. They want to visit many interesting places in China. I can be one of the guides. I can make much money, too. How happy I will be! So from now on, I must study hard. I am going to learn English every day. I will try my best to make it come true.
