There is a small lake in my hometown, which is one of my favorite place. I always go to the lake with my friends. We swim and play a lot there. Sometimes we will go boating and enjoy the quiet moment. Now the lake is not that clean because of the pollution. I realize the importance of protecting the environment.

在家乡我的家乡有一个小湖，那是我最喜欢的地方之一。我总是和我的朋友一起去湖边，我们经常游泳、玩耍。有时我们会去划船，享受安静的时刻。现在的湖因为污染已经不那么干净了。我意识到保护环境的重要性。

As the winter vacation comes, my school has activities for students, and we can choose to go to other cities to learn the historical knowledge. I want to join, but I also want to spend some time with my grandparents. At last, I make the tough choice. I decide to visit my grandparents, because I love them so much and I want to company them.

This year, because of the new crown epidemic, my mother and I watched the first lesson at home. The most impressive is the story of Grandpa Qian Xuesen. Grandpa Qian Xuesen is a famous scientist and aerodynamicist in the world. After finishing college in China, he went to the United States at public expense because of his excellent grades. After finishing his doctorate, he wanted to return to China to work, but the United States disagreed. Grandpa Qian Xuesen overcame all kinds of unexpected difficulties and finally returned to his motherland, becoming one of the most important scientists in New China. Without him, there would be no Chinese missiles. Without him, there would be no Chinese manned space vehicles.

今年因为新冠疫情的原因，我和妈妈一起在家里观看了《开学第一课》。其中印象最深刻的是钱学森爷爷的故事。钱学森爷爷是世界著名的科学家、空气动力学家。他在国内读完大学以后，因为成绩优异，又公费到美国去读书。读完博士以后，他想回到中国来工作，但是美国不同意。钱学森爷爷克服了种种意想不到的困难，最后终于回到了祖国，成为了新中国最重要的科学家之一。没有他，就没有中国的导弹，没有他，就没有中国的载人航天飞行器。

I admire his patriotism very much. I also think that Grandpa Qian Xuesen's great success in becoming a world famous scientist is inseparable from his spirit of hard study and study. It's all worth learning from him.

我非常敬佩他的爱国主义精神，我还觉得钱学森爷爷能够取得这么大的成功，成为世界著名的科学家，一定与他努力学习，刻苦钻研的精神分不开。这些都值得我向他学习。
